We worked together in 2001 on a reading of a new musical (thank you for including me Richard Jay Alexander) and I will never forget it. Her laugh. Her style. Her beloved dogs, which she brought to every rehearsal and to whom she fed my mother's baklava. She was a gem and made my heart happy. Rest now, Great Lady. #RIP #cloris

As a student at a university in Northern California, one of the requirements to graduate was to attend at least one religious studies class. I chose Holocaust Studies. In that first semester, when I witnessed the photo of the shoes in our textbook, I cried in class. I ended up attending every form of this line of study until I graduated. When I was done with school, I kept 4 books - 3 were books I used to obtain my acting degree and the fourth was the textbook used in my Holocaust Studies classes. Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, I saw this post from my friend @lomo212 and cried all over again. Below are her words, her post, about today. Beautifully said...Thank you, Lauren. You've spoken my heart. Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. It’s the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, where Nazi German forces killed 1.1 million. In total, more than 6 million innocent people were killed by Nazi forces, yet a 2020 survey reported that 63% of Gen Z couldn’t tell you how many were killed, and 50% didn’t know what Auschwitz was. We must continue share the atrocities of history or we are doomed to repeat them. Sadly as we know, anti-semitism, racism, bigotry and prejudice is still alive. Just as it started back then with politicians spewing hate speech which then led to gas chambers, we have current politicians emboldening white supremacy. We must continue to fight and dismantle hate and bigotry in all forms. #holocaustremembranceday #weremember

Just get on @hulu , turn off your phone and experience THIS for 90 minutes. @derekdel - I am in AWE of what you have accomplished here. The level of your artistry - there are no words. THANK YOU for one of the most beautiful moments I have ever experienced. As an artist, I watch something like this and feel like I’m not worthy to breathe the same air that you do.
